It is easy to dismantle not completely a storm door to take out the glass.
Insert the retainer strips in place.
The glass or insect screen are secured using removable retainer strips on the interior of the door panel.
A pella storm door comes with a glass panel installed but a screen can be purchased as an option.
Remove the glass and place the screen in the door opening.
Slide it into the door channel in front of the screen.
You may also want to remove your existing screen for replacement if it has become damaged.
Reversing the screen in your storm door can be simple.
Insert the screen panel into the door.
Start at the top of the door and hold the retainer at about a 45 degree angle with the edge with writing on it facing you.
To do so nudge a thin blade or a flathead screwdriver between the door frame and the retaining strip gently pry it from the top of the glass and work your way in the opposite direction.
The idea is to unscrew all the tiny screws that are usually hidden in the spaces where the door edges meet.
Tips for installing and removing retainer strips.
Replace any weatherstripping or concealment devices.
Use a screwdriver that has a narrow tip to fit it into the corners of the door.
The glass panel needs to be removed to install the screen.

It should not go in between the screen and the door frame.
It should slide into the frame as neatly as the glass panel did.
Pull the glass out and place it aside.
